Nicole Ari Parker (born Nicole Ari Parker) is an American actress that works in the fields of film, television and theatre. Her most well-known role is Teri Joe, a fiery lawyer on The Showtime show Soul Food. Nikki Kodjoe became her stage name following her marriage. She was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland she showed an interest in acting from the age of five and was awarded an award for the best Actress award in a Maryland high school contest. Apart from her role as a theater actress, she also worked with 'The Washington Ballet Company. The company awarded her the degree of Acting at New York University. The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love earned her a first-class role. Then came movies like 'Boogie Nights Spark & Blue Streak. Soul Food was an immensely well-loved TV show. Also, she appeared in TV shows like Second Time Around 'and Empire. Prior to that she was a part of several stage productions. Parker is a model with an interest in politics and is married to model/actress Boris Kodjoe. Two children were born to them.

Contractor, who was brought up by his parents from Nigeria and Mumbai prior to turning 7years old, traveled all over all over the world and had a taste of various cultures while growing up. She attended boarding school in London from seven to nine years old, then her family moved towards Toronto, Canada, where she lived the bulk of her youth and early adulthood. Contractor was a successful academic in Toronto while also training as the ballerina. The Etobicoke School of the Arts (a public school for high schools that is specialized in the arts) she studied dance and theatre. At the age of 16 and after more than 10 years of dance Contractor decided to study acting professionally. Upon graduating from high school she received a full-time scholarship to Toronto's University of Toronto, where she completed a masters degree in the field of theatre, and a double major in psychology and sociology. After one semester at the University, Contractor went to an audition on a call-to-action basis for the production Pericles in the highly regarded and renowned Stratford Shakespeare Festival [Ontario, Canada and landed the lead role. The play was well-received in the 92 plays that she performed in. She was awarded an award in 2002, which was awarded to the best production of the Year by Canadian Critics. She was invited to join Stratford's conservatory, a program where only four men and eight women can take an intensive 20-week course of classical theater. The role was secured for Contractor for the following series of plays, and she landed Hermia's role as Hermia in A Midsummer Night's Dream.
